Friday small groups

One hour every Friday, expected, in one of four time slots · open discussion, led by you

The Friday group is part of each week, along with your 3 hours of sessions. Sign up for one time slot in the Canvas Calendar each week; your group can change from week to week.

Friday is an open discussion. You bring the topics: something AI helped you learn this week, something you caught it getting wrong, a question from a chapter or a talk, or a situation you saw on a rotation. Talking about AI with an attending, a colleague, a patient, or an interviewer is a skill, and it gets better when you practise it out loud. The groups are not recorded, so you can try ideas and get them wrong.

Leave out anything that could identify a patient (see the patient information page).

Week 3 (October 30): bring your clinical stories. Bring a situation where AI helped or hurt in patient care: one you saw, one you heard about, or one from the news. You lead the discussion. The co-directors join some of the groups.

Week 4 (November 6). The last group is for your five-minute “what you will keep” presentations from the learning journal. If you cannot come that day, submitting the piece in Canvas is enough.
